About Me

Photography has always been something I've wanting to embrace. I've been enthralled with the mere thought of how our eyes work. They are made so perfectly, they can focus and un-focus like no camera can, bringing what we see into a crystal clear view. Unfortunately, our eyes can fail us sometimes, and our memories can not repaint that crystal clear vision in our minds. Which is why I believe photographs are a gift that we take for granted. To take in the beauty of a frozen memory that will only wait for you to unfold its secrets - that is what I strive to create.

Growing Up In The Rocky Mountains

Growing up in the Rockies, I never would have thought that the opposite of claustrophobia was a feeling I would experience. Yet every time I am in the Prairies, the need to have something surrounding me always creeps into my heart. I grew up surrounded; surrounded by trees, by mountains, and surrounded by a culture that loves the outdoors. That is what made me.

A Passion For Film And Photography

Growing up I always had an artistic drive, taking after my father who is an artist-blacksmith. I would constantly trial and reject different artistic mediums like painting, sketching, even scrape booking. Yet nothing felt right. Alas I stumbled upon photography and dove in head first. I got a camera, started shooting and appertained under a local photographer. This eventually lead to falling in love with film-making as well.

An Influential Outdoor Ed Class

Because of my love of the mountains I enrolled in an outdoor education class in high school. I ended up taking this class 3 times: Outdoor Ed 11, Outdoor Ed 12, and Outdoor Ed 11 as a work experience student. In this class I learned so much valuable knowledge about the back country. It led me to fall in love with rock climbing and fully embrace an outdoor life style.
